Telmisartan + Hydrochlorothiazide Tablet is a combination medication. It contains two active ingredients. These are telmisartan. Another one is hydrochlorothiazide. Telmisartan is known to be an angiotensin II receptor blocker or ARB. On the other hand hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic. ARBs work by blocking a hormone. The hormone is angiotensin II. This hormone makes blood vessels narrow. Blocking it allows blood vessels to relax. This ultimately lowers the blood pressure. Thiazide diuretics have a different job. They increase the amount of urine produced. This helps to reduce fluid in the body. It also lowers blood pressure.
